Ten Cent Book Sale at 9 pm
Yes, it's really been 18 wonderful years here at MLB. We'll be making this halloween special, though, with the appearance of four of our most popular authors.
Naturaly, we'll also celebrate in the usual way with free cappuccino, starting at 6 pm. At 7 pm we'll begin our Halloween Author Fest followed by the ten cent booksale at 9 pm.
Donna Andrews
Long an MLB favorite, Donna Andrews is the author of ten books in the humorous Meg Lanslow series. She'll join us with a Christmas mystery for Meg: Six Geese a Slaying. The earlier Cockatiels at Seven is out now along with the paperback of The Penguin Who Knew Too Much.
Cordelia Biddle
Corcdelia Biddle will join us with her second novel Deception's Daughter. This sequel to The Conjurer brings back heiress Martha Beale, an engaging sleuth in 1840's Philadelphia. Cordelia was also one half of the writing team behind Nero Blanc, a series with a crossword theme written with her husband Steve.
Tori Carrington
The husband and wife team of Lori and Tony Karyanis are the creative force behind Tori Carrington. Their series of humorous mysteries featuring Greek-American sleuth Sofie Metropolis started with Sofie Metropolis and continues through four books, most recently the hardcover Working Stiff.
Ellen Crosby
Ellen Crosby comes to our Halloween celebration with the third in her series about Virginia winemaker Lucie Montgomery: The Bordeaux Betrayal. Also out will be the paperback of the second in the series, The Chardonnay Charade.
Marcia Talley
Marcia Talley has been a frequent visitor to MLB from the inception of her Hannah Ives series in 1999. We're pleased to announce that Marcia will join our Halloween festivities with the seventh in that series, Dead Man Dancing.
The 10 cent book sale, benefitting Beginning with Books, begins at 9 pm. We'll be selling off all the advanced reading copies we've accumulated over the past year with all proceeds going to Beginning with Books, a Pittsburgh-based literacy program.
As a special treat, we invite you to take 18% off any one hardcover book purchased any time during the day of October 31.
Please join us if you can. |
