Description:
David Loogan finds himself drawn into a friendship with Tom Kristoll, the publisher of a mystery magazine. But as several deaths are uncovered--some of them echoing stories published in the magazine--Loogan begins to look more and more like the most promising suspect.
Mystery Lovers Review:
Plans go wrong, bad things happen, people die. That pretty much sums up the basic noir plot but Harry Dolan’s involving and surprising debut goes beyond formula to construct a unique blend of crime novel and traditional mystery that I simply loved mostly because it played so effectively with the conventions of the genre. At the opening a man buys a shovel to dig a grave. Whose grave and why he’s digging it will unfold in the measured prose of this unusual novel that kept me up late.
